Laura Vandervoort
In 1997 she began acting at the age of 13. When she was 13, after attending several classes as well as doing background work on Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy and Harriet the Spy, she was offered her first role as a speaker in the Canadian children's horror anthology series Goosebumps and Are You Scared of the Dark?, both series were broadcast in 1997 on YTV. "2" after commercials and a part in Goosebumps and other films including The Dresden Files (Mom's was a Date with a Vampire, Alley Cats Strike, Prom Queen, The Marc Hall Story) Vandervoort did land the lead role on CTV's teen drama Instant Star. The series ran for four seasons. Vandervoort's first film, The Lookout, was released in the year 2006. The Lookout starred Jeff Daniels along with Matthew Goode and Isla Fischer. Vandervoort got a role in Smallville which is a series which airs on The CW. She as Clark Kent's Kryptonian "Kara Kent", the woman who would later become Supergirl. The season 7 episode was the first time she was a regular in the series. She appeared in "Bloodline" episode, which was the eighth season's episode. 3. In the tenth season and final episode of Smallville, she returned for two more episodes. 4. Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort shot the follow-up in the feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman was her next independent film. It also featured Canadian stars Michael Ironside and Corey Sevier.
